Residents are encouraged to participate in the local fund raising efforts to keep the rental increases as low as possible.

The Flower Foundation Groenkloof has four guest rooms which can accommodate two people each. These rooms are used as either an overnight stop or a few days stay by the families of people who require treatment at the neighboring Little Company of Mary Hospital. A small donation is requested for use of the rooms. The rooms are neat and very comfortable.

Other fund raising efforts include an annual golf day, as well as a Spring Fête. Residents at other units hold monthly pancake, vetkoek and other food sales, as well as monthly jumble sales and white elephant sales.

The residents of the various housing units do their bit by holding monthly pancake, vetkoek and jumble sales.

We are always in need of funds to make our mission of homes for the aged at the lowest possible rental, a reality. Our rentals are about one third of what is available commercially. To continue, we need funds. All funds and bequests are gratefully received and devoted solely to the purpose of homes for the aged. All donors can request a certificate for tax relief. The more funds a welfare organization such as The Flower Foundation receives, the less has to be paid in the form of rent; which most of our older people pay from the meager pensions.
